They have taken my credit info and now my fiance is almost out of the correctional facility and they just told me to wait another 24 hours! This is ridiculous!! :( I have a prepaid account and have not been able to receive calls since last wednesday and everytime I call CBS they tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours this is a bunch of BS...I am so freaking tired of the BS. Something needs to be done about the company. I have called CBS everyday 3 or 4 times a day. My mother in law is having the same issues.

cbs is not all bad, yes there are issues when people are not given all the correct information about how your line can become blocked and how to keep your phone from discinnected and getting 'dropped calls'

hopefully this helps...

first you can only be billed through your phone company... if they are one of aproc 7 phone companies that will allow cbs to place the cost of the calls on their bill so that you can pay your phone bill and collect inmate calls together... if you have one of these companies as your phone provider.. remember you will be given a credit limit and if you hit that credit limit in the 90 days that they give you.... then you have to get a 'pre paid' account or a direct bill account.............

you do HAVE to pay a minimum payment of $50.00 to open a prepay account to receive the calls... you can pay cash through western union to set up your account.....

and if you think you have decent enough credit ... ask cbs to do a credit check to see if you canbe billed directly.. the best account option....

some helpful reminders....

the automated system is a waste of time... instead of listening and pressing ANY buttons... press 'zero' and 'pound' on your phone about three times or maybe four... 'zero'..'pound'...zero...pound... till you hear it say 'transfering to a rep... or it will ring again..... as hte auto system.... is always up to 48 hrs behind on balance info... etc....

whenever you speak to a rep at cbs.... ask them your balance and the last call that posted to the account.. so that you get an accurate idea of if calls have not posted... and will still be deducted from the money left.....

GET THE WEB ACCESS~!!!!!!!

it's the best way to get around the needing times and dates for dropped calls... because you can dispute them online and get the exact dates and times for the dropped calls.....

wu pymt... never post at the same time every time..... and ALWAYS KEEP YOUR WESTERN UNION RECEIPT!!!!!!!!!!

the info you need to put on the BLUE QUICK COLLECT FORM is important!!! and that is why the rep repeat it so many times...

company name is : Tnetix

code city: collect call

state: texas

senders account info: the telephone number you want to get calls on, your name and address....

ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT CBS IS THE SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE JAIL OR PRISON YOU NEED CALLS FROM... BEFORE GIVING THEM MONEY....

if you are going to pay with a prepay visa or mastercard... make sure there is AT LEAST $58.00 on the card and that you have registered your name and address exactly the way you've given the info to cbs, on the card.........

hope this helps.... it has really helped me .. once i had a rep give me the proper information.. my phone call was about 45 mins.. but i know what im doing and why things happen...

dropped calls....

loud background noise..... microwave beeps.... call waiting..... unplugging your cell from its charger...inmates shouting in the facility.... your kids picking up the phone to say hello... pressing ANY buttuns.. AND LONG PAUSES IN THE CONVERSATION.... these ALL cause dropped calls.. know the aprox times and dates... kiss the cbs rep's butt when you say hello.. so they dont get lots of attitude and ask for the dropped calls credits.. play dumb... telll them it keeps happening and you dont know why... but its too much money to be wasting.. and you were wondering if you could find out why it keeps happening... and how much you can get back :)

all calls 3 mins and under - full cost of the call

all calls over 3 mins: half the cost

good luck :)

We have also done the prepay and still blocked. How can this company stay in business? Something has to be done about this crazieness! :upset

I paid $50. to start an account for several weeks the block remained I was told there is a block on my line via my cable services so I requested a refund which took weeks to receive that was sent via a check minus the $6.95 payment fee that I never got to use. This is a legal rip off of the public.

I have been mailing in my payments to avoid paying $6.95 everytime I make a payment on- line or by phone. Now all of a sudden this month my payments have not posted. They keep telling me they changed post office boxes the day after they credited my last payment. Post office boxes are forwarded for 30 days according to USPS, so where is my money? My phone has been blocked 2 weeks now. If I stop payment on my check, and pay over the phone they will get my $6.95. I refuse to pay them a fee and there service has been nothing but horrible since they have taken over! I wish I could chose another company when I am not happy with the services provided by this one. I am a taxpayer too. We should have a choice!

I have ahd nothing but bad services thru CBS. My son is incarcerated in TX and has only been able to make one call home. Is continually being told the line is blocked. I called CBS and was told the block was put on by local phone service. I called my local phone service and am being told there is NO block on the line. So I TRIED to contact CBS and am still being told the local phone company has a block. I can't reach a HUMAN at CBS to determine what the problem is!. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Same BS here. My mother-in-law paid a balance of 50 dollar over a week ago and the freakin phone is still blocked and I a getting ready to report there dumb*** to someone important.

very pissed: yes you DO have a limit. if you want to be billed thorugh ur phone provider, they (ur phone company not CBS) tells CBS what ur limit can be based on payment history etc. if you go over it tuff luck, switch to prepay.

and no they ould not tell you to wait 24-48 hours for no reason. if ur line is blocked and u make a payment, it may take UPTO 24 hrs to start recieving calls based on when the inmate attempts. all issues here should be blamed on wirther the jail or ur phone provider, educate urself as to who is *** up ur phone. or just make a *** payment and u will be fine!

:( The phone keeps disconnecting after only 1-2 minutes because it's saying that someone had pressed a button or someone is trying to make a 3-way call. I have a log of all the calls that have been disconnected. I tried to call this evening but I never was successful trying to get a hold of someone so I'll try to call tomorrow, hopefully they'll issue me a refund.....
